Field Research

This project examines the different ways of gender violence within three perspectives: Media, education and judicial. This study proposes three transdisciplinary areas which have unavoidly to be connected and simultaneously executed if we want to effectively eradicate the phenomenon of violence and to change the statistics in the near future. In all three cases there will be a field study at the city of Valencia:

a) From a legal perspective should be focused in following the results of the application of the Gender Violence Act (LO 1/2004), not only from a judicial point of view, but also from the other areas related to the prevention and sensibilization of the society.

b) In the field of mass media will be analyzed from the perspective of gender equality (imposed by the Equality Act and the Gender Violence Act), the information process of making this news, as well as for TV series fiction.

c) From a perspective of gender equality education in both primary and secondary education, will be assessed how sensible teachers are educated, in order to test if they are ready to teach such a new subject which is called 'Education for Citizenship' and how to build up new generations on those new perspectives.
